TN/10/2022 Karukurichi Arunachalam Birth Centenary

P.Arunachalam known as “Karukurichi Arunachalam” was born on 26th April 1921 in Karukurichi Village in Tirunelveli District. He rose to fame in the 1940s by playing Nadhaswaram a musical instrument. He played Nadhaswaram with supreme tonal quality with refined sense of aesthetics and creativity expanding the frontiers of music. His rendition for the song “Singara Velane Deva” in the movie “Konjum Salangai” made him hugely popular among masses. This special cover is released to commemorate the birth centenary of the maestro.
