TN/21/2022 The Unsung Hero of Freedom Movement - Bashyam Arya

K Bhashyam Arya (26 January 1907 – 05 March 1999) hoisted the National Tricolour at Fort St. George, the seat of British Power in Madras, after bringing down the Union Jack on the midnight of 25th January 1932. He was also a writer, journalist and a cartoonist. The portrait of Bharathiyar with a twirling moustache painted by him has been recognized by the Government and has been widely used. This special cover is being released honouring the Unsung heroes of Freedom Movement on the Occasion of SIPA AMRITPEX 2022 Philatelic Exhibition.
