Paniya Choonthumani is a type of earring worn by the women folk of Paniyas community found in Pandalur and Gudalur Taluks in Nilgiri District of Tamilnadu. The earring made of lucky red seeds (Adenanthera pavonina) known as Choonthumani in Tamil. It is stuck inside a ring of palm leaf using beeswax ("Mayana Kosu Pisin") or gum from Jackfruit tree ("Marathikku"). This special cover is issued under the aegis of AKAM 2.0

Kurumba Paintings is a unique tribal art form found in the Nilgris and Allu Kurumbas are the experts in painting. Four colours are used traditionally. Red ("Semm manna") and White ("Bodhi manna") are obtained from soils, black is obtained from the bark of a tree ("Kari maram") and green from the leaves of a plant ("Kaatavarai Sedi"). Chandrayaan-3 space craft : Made in India. Made for the Moon. It was launched from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota Range on July 14, 2023. It successfully touched down near the Lunar South Pole Region on August 23, 2023. Rover Pragyan ramped down from the Vikran Lander of Chandrayaan 3.
